The Big 5 Construct Nigeria trade fair will return to Lagos this month, drawing more than 145 exhibitors from over 20 countries as the nation’s $108 billion construction market attracts fresh global interest.

The three-day event, hosted at the Landmark Centre from Sept. 23–25, will showcase solutions ranging from building materials and solar technology to HVAC-R, digital construction and façade systems, organisers dmg events said in a statement.

Nigeria’s construction sector is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 4.4 percent between 2024 and 2028, supported by government investment of $16.8 billion in capital projects this year alone, according to Research and Markets.

Spending priorities include roads, affordable housing and initiatives tied to the nation’s $1.9 trillion net-zero plan for 2060.

“The market opportunity in Nigeria is significant,” said Josine Heijmans, senior vice president for construction at dmg events. “By convening leading suppliers, regional players and decision-makers under one roof, the event creates a space where business opportunities meet national priorities.”

Exhibitors include first-time participants such as Sany Equipment, Daikin, Legrand Electric and Stanley Black & Decker, alongside returning names like Lafarge and Sika. National pavilions from Egypt, Türkiye, China and Austria will also feature.

The event’s Big 5 Talks program will run more than 25 CPD-certified sessions on sustainability, project management, architecture and cost control.

Speakers include senior officials from Nigeria’s housing and works ministries, Lafarge Africa Plc and the Green Building Council Nigeria.

Construction and infrastructure are central to Nigeria’s National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan, which aims to close gaps in housing and transport while boosting long-term growth.
