The management of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) has arrested eight illegal bureau de change operators at and around the terminal as part of efforts to rid the airport of the menace of robbery. Speaking in his office on Wednesday, Victor Ariza, public relations officer of the international airport, said that the suspects were arrested between April 2 and April 8 and have since been handed over to the police for prosecution. Ariza said, “In our continued effort at MMIA to rid the airport of illegal bureau de change operators, on the 2nd of April, we arrested two people, Saidu Haruna and Lasi Yusuf, and after preliminary investigations both have been handed over to the police for prosecution”. “On the 4th of April our security operatives also arrested Salisu Umaru Haruna, Takani Abubakar, Abdul Kareem Haliru and Sani Hassan while on the 8th of April, Usman Abu Dhabi and Muhammed Adamu” were arrested.
