Leadway Pensure PFA appoints Lanre Idris as new MD

Leadway Pensure pays N175bn on retirement benefits

Leadway Pensure PFA Limited, a foremost pension fund administrator in Nigeria, has announced the appointment of Lanre Idris as its new managing director (MD), heralding a new era in the company’s history. His appointment follows the recent retirement of­­ Ronke Adedeji, the erstwhile MD, who steered the ship of the organisation for over a decade.

Before his appointment as the managing director of Leadway Pensure, Idris served as the executive director/COO of the organisation during which he was instrumental to the transformation and the remarkable growth the organisation recorded. He has worked with diverse teams across the country, serving in various senior management positions in leading organisations.

Idris was formerly the general manager at Tehila Communications Ltd, a value added services company in Lagos, before moving on to become the chief technology officer (CTO) of Prestel Communications Ltd., Benin. He boasts of years of managerial experience and versatility spanning various positions across different organisations and industries. His expertise covers areas in leadership, information systems, governance, risk and business process management.

Hassan-Odukale posits that the appointment of Lanre Idris, a well-rounded individual, confirms Leadway Pensure’s commitment to staying true to the reputation it has built over the years as a robust Pension Fund Administrator, handling pension funds and clients across different fields, classes, and categories.

According to him, Idris is as much a personal development beacon as he is an industry player. He is a member of professional bodies such as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Institute for Operational Excellence (IOE), the Chartered Institute for IT and the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA). He has also contributed to the growth of the pension industry in Nigeria, serving on a number of industry committees.

An alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the University of Liverpool, bagging graduate and postgraduate qualifications in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Information Systems Management respectively. In addition, his certifications and training in Leadership, ­­Strategy, Finance and Investment at various local and international institutions including the Lagos Business School, London School of Economics and The Wharton College of the University of Pennsylvania at once depicts his dedication to lifelong learning.
