IOD appoints Segun Alabi as head, corporate affairs

The Institute of Directors Nigeria (IoD), one of Nigeria’s foremost corporate governance institutes, has appointed Segun Alabi as its new head of corporate affairs and programs.

The institute made this known in a statement made available to newsmen and signed by Dele Alimi, Director General, IoD. Alimi said that Alabi has rich experience in reputation management, government relations, stakeholder management, public policy advocacy and social media management at various levels.

He explained that Alabi was the head of corporate communications at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and most recently his wealth of knowledge and experience as corporate affairs and Sustainability manager at AB-INBEV (International Breweries Plc) would be valuable to the institute.

In his words, “Segun Alabi is a talented Corporate Affairs professional, who has gained diverse experience in the broadcasting, financial, real estate and manufacturing sectors.

“His most recent position at international breweries had him overseeing all regulatory affairs and sustainability functions of the organisation.

“He is also a consummate corporate communications professional, who possesses the qualities of a communication connoisseur, with a canny ability to manage and disseminate information to a competitive advantage.

“He will be an added value and a real asset to the institute, as we continue to support, promote and provide best practice guidelines to company directors, as well as contributing to the growth of the economy,” he said.
