inDrive targets business growth in Nigeria with drivers’ motivation

In bid to encourage its drivers to do more for the business, inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform operating in Nigeria has offered Junaid Taofeek Olatunji, a grand prize of N16m worth of IVM Smart car to enhance his commercial transportation business.

The presentation of the car to Olatunji last weekend in Lagos marked the conclusion of a three- month campaign tagged doXgetY where high-performing inDrive drivers in Lagos and Abuja won prizes to help them manage operational costs during these challenging economic times.

The doXgetY programme, according to the company, was introduced in response to the escalating cost of living in Nigeria. Its goal was to alleviate the financial burden on drivers by offering rewards programme.

In a chat with BusinessDay, Catherine Akindele, manager with InDrive said the concept of the campaign means that drivers need to complete a certain number of rides to earn the prizes from InDrive. The prizes, according to her , were in different categories ranging from microwave, cash voucher, fuel voucher, phone, TV and the star prize were cars for May, June and July respectively.

According to her, the winners for May and June were from Lagos while Olatunji is from Abuja. Akindele explained that the idea was to encourage other drivers on the platform.

In his response after receiving the keys to the car, Junaid Taofeek Olatunji, said that the gift will be a turnaround in his business. He also highlighted the positive impact the winning will have on the morale of the entire InDrive drivers.

Olatunji who came with his family relations and friends to Innoson Motors at Surulere where the IVM Smart vehicle was presented to him said the car is both appreciation for his efforts and a motivation on the commercial jobs.
