Ikeja DISCO stops customers from buying of electricity equipments

In its bid to stop corruption and drive customer awareness towards effective service delivery by the new owners,the Ikeja Distribution Company (IKEDC) over the weekend advised all its customers, and communities under its network to henceforth desist from contributing money for electricity workers to buy transformers, cables and others installations equipments.

The Assistant General Manger Public Affairs,Mr Pekun Adeyanju gave the order during the Customers Consutative Forum and  sensitization campaign in Ikorodu.

The exercise which had over 2,000 customers in attendance provided a platform for the company to interact directly with customers to change customers perceptions  towards the electricity distribution company and also updates on the state of power even as it continues to work with its technical partners to ensure seamless and equitable distribution of power across its network.

Commending customers for their support, Adeyanju stated contribution of money by its teeming customers or communities to buy transfomers, cables, installations and equipments will not be condoled under the new management.

According to him, ” Our customers should enhence forth stop contributing money for any electricity workers to buy installations be it transformers, cables etc.

“We have made sufficient provision of equipments to paying customers who require them. Once you are paying your bills, it is our responsibility to change any faulty equipment within our network.Customers should also assist us in protecting our installations judiciously to enable us to serve you better,” he said.

Adeyanju said that the essence of the customers forum is to sentise customers on the need for mutual partnering in ensuring  all customers are captured in the data base.
