Ikeja Club appoints four new members to board of trustees

The Ikeja Club under the Lagos Country Club has appointed four members to its new board of trustees.

The new members are Alayaki Seriki-Aro, Sunday Ajilore, Ademola Adunola, and Kayode Adesina.

“The appointment of the additional BoT members was in further fulfilment of one of our electoral promises, which is to recognise excellent performance by members and reward them for their meritorious contributions to the development and progress of the club,” Musediq Adeleke, president of the club said in a statement.

He assured members that qualified individuals will be appointed to leadership roles, provided it aligns with the club’s rules and receives approval from the general membership.

Abayomi Omoyinmi, vice president of the club and chairman of the planning committee of the investiture explained that the appointment of the additional four members of the BoT was part of the process to complete the number of BoT that the constitution provided for.

“The Corporate Affairs Commission provided for seven members to form a quorum. We have not been holding our meetings because we were just three members and now, we can,” he said.

Alayaki Seriki-Aro, one of the newly appointed BoT members and secretary to the board urged the members to continue to contribute to the development of the club.

“We are assuring the management of the club that we will work tirelessly to ensure that the club is making progress,” he said.

Lagos Country Club has over the years grown to be regarded as one of the Top Social, Recreational, and Sporting Clubs in Nigeria with over 2000 active members, having a membership that cuts across nationalities, tribes, and multi-cultures. Lagos Country Club is the premier Family Club in Nigeria.
