Nigeria, like many nations, faces increasing insecurity. From kidnapping to human trafficking, armed robbery of homes, shops and banks and cyber threats against companies and businesses, indeed, Nigerians are sitting on the edge.
State security forces are not sleeping to ensure Nigerians and businesses thrive without fear. However, they need the support of Nigerians and firms to record more successes in their operations.
One of such complementary support is coming from Proforce Nigeria, a security company incorporated in 2008 as a subsidiary of O’la-Kleen Holdings Limited that specializes in offering defence solutions and ensuring personal protection across all terrains; in the sea, the air and on the land.
Proforce has been at the forefront of advancing Nigeria’s defense manufacturing industry, offering innovative solutions and high-quality products that meet international standards.
With a mission to enhance national security, Proforce, which has made significant investment in this regard, said it is Nigeria’s first and only indigenous defence manufacturing company. It specialises in the production and delivery of armored vehicles and other types of land and air security equipment like drones.
Over the past 16 years, Proforce said in its website that it has leveraged research and exploited deep technical know-how to produce and develop an outstanding portfolio of products for domestic and international clients including but not limited to; Nigerian Government, Chadian Government, Rwandan Government.
Driven by the passion to indigenize localisation of armored products, Proforce said it employs 100% indigenous technicians, welders and electricians across its three bases situated in Nigeria, Dubai and India.
One of its products The “PF Hulk” MRAP which it introduced in July last year is said to be a “versatile vehicle designed to transport personnel or military supplies while providing necessary protection. It supports the installation of weapon systems and specialized equipment and can tow trailed systems.
“With a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 15 tons and a protection level of 3a / 3b according to STANAG 4569 standards, it can carry up to 10 personnel. The PF Hulk MRAP is equipped with a 360-horsepower engine, a 5-speed mechanical transmission, and has a fuel endurance of 1,000 kilometers. Safety Assured.”
Notable Nigerian security official had paid visits to the company. When Bello Muhammed Matawalle visited the company last year, he commended Proforce for its contributions to national security and its adherence to the principles of the DICON Act.
The DICON Act seeks to enhance the participation of local companies in the defence sector. The visit was also significant as it was a move to promote local content and the Domestic Content Inclusion in the Defence Industry Act (DICON Act). “This visit underscores the Nigerian government’s commitment to fostering self-reliance and boosting local production capabilities within the defense sector”, Proforce said in its site.
Matawalle also highlighted the company’s role in not only producing top-tier defense equipment but also in fostering innovation and technological advancement within the country.
Also last year, Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, paid a visit to the Proforce facility. This visit was part of ongoing efforts to enhance the local defense manufacturing capabilities and reduce reliance on foreign imports for military equipment.
During his tour of the Proforce facility, according to the Proforce website, General Musa was given a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations, including its cutting-edge production processes and innovative technological advancements. Proforce, known for its expertise in armored vehicle manufacturing, Drones and other defense-related products, showcased its latest developments aimed at bolstering national security.
