EY Nigeria will, on Wednesday, July 29, host a virtual webinar to help companies, valuation professionals, and other stakeholders understand the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria’s (FRC) draft valuation regulations and prepare for their implementation.
The webinar comes after the FRC issued draft valuation regulations that introduce new requirements for valuation quality, governance, transparency, and regulatory oversight in Nigeria’s financial reporting framework.
The session, titled “Navigating the FRC Valuation Guidelines for Financial Reporting: Key Requirements and Practical Considerations,” will examine the proposed valuation framework, the rationale for the regulations, and their implications for reporting entities, valuation professionals, auditors, boards, and management.
According to EY Nigeria, the webinar is designed for board members, chief executive officers, chief financial officers, finance directors, audit committee members, finance professionals, valuation specialists, auditors, risk professionals, and other stakeholders involved in financial reporting, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Ugochukwu Nwora, head of the Directorate of Valuation Standards at the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, will deliver the keynote address, focusing on the background, objectives, and key provisions of the draft regulations.
The programme will also include a panel discussion on implementation, regulatory expectations, and governance practices.
Panelists include Olufemi Alabi, Abiodun Ogunoiki, Jamiu Olakisan, and Williams Erimona, all partners at EY, alongside Idowu Bakare and Nwora.
The discussion will cover practical implementation considerations, enforcement expectations, and approaches that boards and management can adopt as the valuation regulations progress toward implementation.
