EY Nigeria admits five new partners

EY Nigeria has announced the admission of five new partners into the West Africa Partnership, effective July 1, 2024.

The firm said in a statement on Wednesday that the new partners include Chinedu Onyekwelu and Abiodun Ogunoiki in consulting, Eunice Samson, Akeem Ogunseni, and Ahmed Dangana as associate partners in assurance, tax practice, and markets, respectively.

“The latest admissions are part of our efforts to continually invest in our personnel, ensuring we have the right mix to deliver exceptional services and meet our obligations to clients,” Anthony Oputa, regional managing partner for EY West Africa, said expressing his congratulations.

Chinedu Onyekwelu, one of the newly admitted partner who is a chemical engineering graduate and supply chain specialist, joined EY nine years ago. With over 18 years of experience in the professional services and oil & gas sectors, he brings a wealth of knowledge and strong relationships in the industry to his new role.

Abiodun Ogunoiki, with 16 years of experience as a risk consultant and a former deputy chief risk officer at a top Nigerian bank, leads financial services risk management for EY West Africa.

Eunice Samson, a PhD scholar in Sustainable Development, leads EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS). Before joining EY,

She held senior roles in sustainability at a leading FMCG and a top-tier Nigerian bank. Samson is also a fellow at the National Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria and the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS, UK).

Akeem Ogunseni, who joined EY in 2010, holds degrees in applied accounting and computer science, and an MBA in finance. His experience spans tax, accounting, and payroll services for local and multinational firms.

Ahmed Dangana, with over 17 years of experience in financial and management consulting, most recently served as the Managing Director/CEO of Kano Electricity Distribution Company Plc.

His expertise includes business and transaction advisory, infrastructure finance, economic policy development, and corporate strategy.
