In a bid to reach out to Nigerians abroad, a firm, Diaspora Community has launched an online business platform in Nigeria.

The launch, which held during a press conference at the weekend in Lagos, the organisers said it is to enable Nigerian businesses have a unique way to connect with new and wider target audience of over 6 million Nigerians in the diaspora.

The Chief Operating Officer, Chigozie Orogbu explained the platform offers an opportunity to reach the Nigerian diaspora community faster, efficiently and at an affordable cost.

He noted that it is a web based community geared towards guiding Nigerians in the diaspora seeking to return invest in Nigeria and also know it better with a feeling of self realisation through capacity building opportunities.

“This is made possible by a platform, which provides and creates an avenue for Nigerians to interact globally with each other through the use of online forum, social media, business listings and news, “he said.

Orogbu, however, hinted that there are enhanced awareness of Nigeria’s business and economic infrastructure for those that want to effectively reach and engage with them.

Meanwhile, the Legal Counsel, Tokunbo Asagba further posited that Nigerians abroad are looking for information and resources to assist in moving back home to invest in all sectors of the economy.

“These sectors include but are not limited to the stock market, real estate, commodities, education, local businesses and services industries, “he said.

Additionally, Asagba also averred that pointed out that since 2014 when the firm first started its operation, the web site has grown to be a global online community platform, vibrant with user activity it generates currently with over 60000 page views daily from over 20 countries where Nigerians resides.

Moreover, its Nigerian representative and Chief Executive Officer, Majestically Rare Limited, Rita Okoye maintained that in few months time, the web site will be actively promoting its business listings and services capability in Nigeria through various marketing efforts that include strategic partnerships with local businesses and organisations

“The goal is to gain wider brand recognition in Nigeria as well as re~enforce a reputation of being a reliable, safe and affordable online platform for businesses to list their products and services to connect with Nigerians living at home and in the diaspora, “she said.
