Dangote Cement shares down 8.6%, most since Jan 2016

Market bellwether Dangote cement lost heavily in today’s trading as the share price fell by the most since 2016.

The shares which fell by 8.6 percent closed at N170 per share to drag down the benchmark index by 2.33 percent.

With elections around the corner and moderation of rates in the United States, Investors have maintained a risk-off stance towards the Nigerian economy.

Overall, analysts project sentiment to remain bearish as concerns about political risks remain on the front burner.
