Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River state has said the state government has completed arrangement for the  established another cement factory, in the state capital outside United Cement Company limited (Unicem)  to enable him complete his signature projects with less cost to the state government.

His signature projects include a deep seaport, 240km super highway from Calabar to Obanliku, Cross River Infrastructure Company, and a mining company among others.

Governor Ayade who disclosed this at a media briefing with Journalist at the state executive council chambers Calabar said the state government has terminated the appointment of revenue consultants who are paid millions for what he described as reckless spending and exhibiting old skills in going about to intimidate people in the name of tax collection.

The governor said in his bid to expand the scope of government, he is desirous in completing a garment factory in the state capital within the next two months that will employ no fewer than 500 people.

On the debt profile he inherited, Ayade said he inherited a state with great potentials promising to give Calabar Carnival an International approach with the introduction of Miss Africa beauty contest, introduction of green tree initiative during the Carnival where visitors are expected to plant trees.

Ayade also said plans are underway by his administration to build a modern city called Calas-vegas that will be the envy of other state in Nigeria.
