Consolidated Hallmark Insurance (CHI plc), a leader in special risks underwriting, such as Aviation, has again been re-appointed into the board of the African Aviation Pool.

CHI’s re-appointment was conveyed to the firm during the just concluded 27th Annual General Assembly of the African Insurance Organisation held in Kigali, Rwanda. CHI has been a member of the African Aviation Pool since 2010, in recognition of the role it is playing in the underwriting of Aviation risks in Nigeria.

Eddie Efekoha, the managing director/CEO of the company in his reaction, attributed the reappointment to the affirmation of faith in CHI by fellow risk underwriters, not only in Nigeria, but the entire African continent on the company’s leadership role in aviation underwriting.

The company will not relent in providing the very best services in all areas of General Business Risks underwriting, including oil and gas through well-trained and highly skilled manpower, but will also continue to expand capacity in order to take advantage of favourable policies, especially the local content, Efekoha said.

Consolidated Hallmark has earned a reputation over the years as the insurer of first choice and lead underwriter to reputable airlines with operations in local and international routes.

African Oil and Energy and Aviation Insurance Pools was formed by the African Insurance Organisation (AIO) to boost the capacity of oil, energy and aviation insurance in order to deepen African insurance market to take up large risks in the volatile oil, energy and aviation insurance through capacity building.

The Aviation Pool has about 37 insurance and reinsurance companies from 14 African countries and underwrites business from a number of African and international airlines.
