Zhang Li Xin, the managing director of Time Ceramics Nigeria Limited has commended the Edo State Government for providing an enabling environment for the company to invest in the state.

BusinessDay reports that the ceramics industry was established at Utesi community in Ikpoba Okha local government area of the state during the administration of the incumbent government, Adams Oshiomhole.

Li Xin who spoke through an interpreter when the state governor, Adams Oshiomhole paid an inspection to the ceramics factory said infrastructural development in the state especially in the area of roads construction has helped businesses to thrive in the state.

He promised to assist in attracting more Chinese investors to do more businesses and invest in the state.

According to him, “we really appreciate what you have provided including the road. We are going to help the state to attract more Chinese investors here to do more businesses and invest here.

“This is our first time here in Nigeria to start a business and since we are foreigners, we may not know the culture and regulation of this area very well, and we hope that you will understand us. Give us some understanding and we will do our best to do better. We have the confidence here and with your protection, we will go far in this business here,” he said.
The Time Ceramics boss disclosed that the company has so far employed 500 staff still it commenced operation in the state.

In his remark, the State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole noted that the surest way to address the issue of unemployment in the country was for government to provide the basic infrastructure which will in turn attract foreign investment.

Oshiomhole opined that the sitting of an industry in a community attracts development to such community.

“The state government’s investment in road and other infrastructure in different parts of the state have started to yield the right dividends as different companies, including a Chinese firm which employed 500 staff, have started to locate their factories in the state”, he stated.
