Ardova Plc has unveiled the AP SuperMax Motor Oil in Nigeria to meet quality and affordability demand for users.
The company disclosed this at the product launch in Lagos on Thursday, attended by industry stakeholders, dealers and distributors of AP SuperMax Motor Oil.
Super Max is a mono grade motor oil designed for warmer climates offering good protection against wear and rust, maintained at a specific thickness at high operating temperatures.
According to the company, AP Super Max will serve users of motorcycles, public transport vehicles, generators and older engines.
Abiola Babatunde-Ojo, deputy managing director, Ardova Plc while speaking at the event said the oil was designed with everyday users in mind and to meet rising demand for affordable lubricant.
“The oil is designed in a way that will be useful to you, and it is not expensive. We have the everyday user in mind, those who want to use it for small generators, tricycles and other ones. Everybody that hears about AP, what they think is that big expensive brands.
“We have come to tell you that AP caters to everybody now, everybody will get a product irrespective of what you want. If you want a very expensive one, we have it if you and if you want a very cheap one that will still do the same work. We have all of them”
“I think for us, this is a milestone, because before now, a lot of people have known Ardova only for premium brands, but we’ve come to realise that we can actually make a brand that will still be premium and still be affordable, very pocket friendly. So we see this brand as a fighter brand, meaning that is a brand that will go out there and attract more customers to us,” Babatunde-Ojo said.
According to her, the production was focused on one liter and four liters because of market demand, as their target customers fall within the category.

“For now, we’re not looking at adding any other volume, just one liter. Maybe in the future, if there is a need for it, we can consider making another pack. Two things make our product different from that of our competitors, quality and affordability. So when I say quality, other products in that range aren’t usually the same quality as us. So the quality is there, and then it is pocket friendly. So you can actually stand shoulder to shoulder with brands that I usually call premium brands in quotes.”
Speaking on the outlook for the oil and gas sector, she acknowledged some challenges among players in the sector while projecting 2026 as a better year for the industry.
“On the outlook for the oil and gas sector in 2026, we are very optimistic about it. There’s been some ups and downs in the past year as a result of misunderstanding amongst players within the industry. But we are very hopeful that 2026 is starting on a good note. We are coming to a situation where everybody is in agreement, and we are aligned.
“We are ready to work with the refinery, and we are very hopeful that 2026 will be a better year compared to 2025,” she said.
Folasade Taiwo, general manager, AP Lubricant Sales and Marketing described AP SuperMax as quality meets affordability, adding that the product is pocket-friendly designed to meet customers demand.
“I want everyone to know that AP, which is Ardover PLC, listens to its customers. We’ve been hearing complaints of price because of the present situation of the economy, the purchasing power of our people. And we’ve brought a product to market today that is affordable for every end user, for their tricycles, for their generator, for one liter and four liters.
“This product, as we speak today, we have it across 11 warehouses, all 700 retail stations. So we believe that with this, we would attract more customers to ourselves and also help our people. This is what we believe,” Taiwo said.
She added that the oil is not for all cars, “We have premium grades, which are our visco and our super V. Then we have other grades, of which AP, super Max is one of them. We’ve mentioned the classes of vehicles. This product is a monograde. Is not a multi grade. So for cars that require multi grade, they still have to use our AP visco and our AP super V, but for vehicles that are older, then they switch to AP super max that is affordable and the five benefits still remain same, engine cleanliness, high temperature protection, corrosion resistance, and on like that.
‘So for brand new vehicles that require multi grade or synthetic grade of product, they should still go for our other range of products,” she added.
According to the company, one liter is being sold for N3,750 while four liters it’s being sold at our retail outlet at N13,300.
