ANAN partners IASeminars for worldwide trainings on IFRS, IPSAS

IASeminars, to offer some training courses covering a broad range of financial topics of interest to the nation’s private and public sectors.

The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), a chartered professional accountancy body in Nigeria, is partnering IASeminars, an independent global financial training company, to offer some training courses covering a broad range of financial topics of interest to the nation’s private and public sectors.

A statement made available by ANAN to newsmen in Lagos said the financial topics would include courses on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

ANAN said in the statement that the courses would be offered in Nigeria and in other countries.

It recalled that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) announced that Nigeria would adopt the provisions of IFRS and IPSAS in the private and public sectors.

According to the statement, since then, organisations across the country had been busy implementing these benchmarks of global best practices or else were expected to do so in the near future.

“This has generated the need for high-quality training on these complex international rules which ANAN and IASeminars are well-placed to provide,’’ it said.

The president and chairman of the Council of ANAN, Sakirudeen Labode, said “ANAN is pleased to work with IASeminars on this important project.

“There is a growing demand in Nigeria (and across the wider West African Region) for high-quality IFRS and IPSAS training.

“This new collaboration will help provide the necessary technical skills at all levels,’’ Labode said.

According to the ANAN president, IASeminars is known around the world as a specialist in IFRS and IPSAS training and ANAN will be instrumental in making this important service available throughout Nigeria to its members and others.

Founded in 1979, ANAN’s membership now comprises over 20,000 individuals across all sectors of government and industry.

IASeminars is an independent global financial training company offering an extensive range of live and online courses around the world.

Since 2002, some 16,000 participants had come from over 140 different countries to attend IASeminars events which were offered in five continents as well as online.
