Africa Prudential appoints Catherine Nwosu as new MD

Africa Prudential pays N900m dividend, targets core areas for growth

Africa Prudential Plc, a share-provider and digital solutions company in Nigeria, has appointed Catherine Nwosu as its new managing director and CEO.

The appointment, which takes effect on March 1, 2024, was revealed in a statement on Monday.

Nwosu takes over from Obong Idiong, the former managing director and CEO.

“She brings to Africa Prudential Plc a wealth of experience as a distinguished Capital Market Executive. Currently holding the position of second vice president at the Institute of Capital Market Registrars, she has demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout her career,” the statement said.

It said before joining the company, Nwosu served as the head of stakeholders’ engagement at BUA Group.

“Her association with Africa Prudential Plc dates back to its inception in 2006, where she served in various capacities and notably as chief operating officer from 2010 to 2022,” the statement said.

According to the company, Nwosu is an alumna of the Senior Management Program at the Lagos Business School, a Fellow of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and holds degrees in Business Administration, including an MBA.

“We are confident that Nwosu’s appointment will further strengthen Africa Prudential Plc’s commitment to excellence and sustained growth.”
