Access Bank offers zero-fee instant transfer to customers following upgrade

Access Bank, one of the five big banks in Nigeria, said it is making all NIBSS Instant Payment (NIP) transfers free from Friday, November 1 to Thursday, November 7, 2019.

The one week zero instant transfer offer is the bank’s show of gratitude for customers’ patience and understanding while their digital upgrade lasted. The offer applies to all existing and new account numbers and will be made available on the Access Bank mobile app, internet banking and *901# or *426#.

Access Bank which recently acquired Diamond Bank embarked on a digital upgrade to integrate all its banking platforms onto a more robust and advanced platform. During the period the upgrade, customers experienced some service disruptions while carrying out transactions.

The bank said in a statement, that it has completed the digital upgrade, hence customers can “enjoy simpler, faster, convenient and more secure transactions.”

Following the upgrade, customers will no longer need to select between ‘Access’ or ‘Access (Diamond)’ when transacting as there is ease of initiating and receiving bank transfers. Customers can now select ‘Access Bank’ for all transactions and the payments will be processed.
