States’ total revenue hits N1.89trn in H1 2019

The total revenue of the 36 states of the Federation and Federal Capital Territory FCT stood at N1.89 trn at first half 2019, National Bureau of Statistics data revealed.

According to the report, the total revenue consists of internally generated revenue of the 36 states and FCT which stood at N691.11 bn and net FAAC allocation at N1.20 trn.

The total IGR at N691.11 bn represents a 15.78 percent increase from N596.91 billion recorded in H2 2018.

A study of the report shows that the value of foreign debt stood at $4.23bn while domestic debt was N3.85 trn at the end of the year 2018.

States with the highest total revenue for the period were Lagos, Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom and FCT with N263 bn, N151 bn, N145 bn, N106 bn, and N72.85 bn, respectively.

 

The states with the lowest revenue include Osun, Gombe, Taraba, Ekiti, and Ebonyi, at N20.29 bn, N21.79 bn, N25.70 bn, N25.02 bn, and N26.51 bn, respectively.
