In an effort geared towards ridding Oyo State of criminals, the Nigeria Police and National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Oyo State have resolved to collaborate to cut down criminal activities within the state.

Taofeek Oyerinde, chairman of the NURTW in the state, said at the inauguration of the union’s executive council for Ibadan North East I Inter-state at the popular Agodi Gate Motor Park, Ibadan, that the union would cooperate with relevant security agencies to fight crime.

Commending the government for putting in place the joint military/police security patrol team code-named “Operation Burst”, Oyerinde described the development as positive saying it has helped in checking the menace of armed gangsterism and other criminal activities across the state.

He specifically hailed the government for “its high sense of crisis management” which, according to him, had seen the NURTW out of terrible crisis that could have consumed the union.

He highlighted the ongoing transformation processes within Oyo NURTW since his assumption of office stressing that it is a new dawn of positive change in the union
