Ogun partners Germany on vocational training

The Ogun State Government has entered into partnership with the delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK), for an innovative vocational training programme for citizens of the State in both private and public sectors.

The initiative also involves the German Chambers of Commerce and Industries in GieBen-Friedberg and the Nigerian-German Business Association, Hafsat Abiola-Costello, the special adviser on Millenium Development Goals (MDG) to the Governor Ibikunle Amosun has disclosed.

Through the project, citizens of Ogun State will benefit from a dual theoretical and practical apprenticeship in selected sectors and trade.

The training programme will expose beneficiaries to the renowned ‘German Dual Vocational Training’ noted for its core competencies in both practical skills learning as well as core understanding of the theoretical environment for best impact.

According to Abiola-Costello, “To jumpstart the project, Ogun State, in collaboration with its German partners, will organise a planning workshop to be attended by key partners in both the public and private sectors of the State in the coming weeks.”
