Dangote Cement Plc will be remitting N32 million as haulage levy on 800 trucks operating at the Ibese plant to Ogun State government coffers, just as other investors, including Lafarge Cement WAPCO, Nestle Nigeria, Julius Berger Plc, PureChem, among others, will also be paying several millions of naira as haulage levies.

Bimbola Ashiru, the Ogun State commissioner for commerce and industry, who revealed this at a launch of the Ogun State government unified haulage stickers in Abeokuta at the weekend, said the unified haulage stickers would prevent multiple haulage levies hitherto paid by truck operators in the state and curb fake haulage ticketing perpetrated by touts.

Ashiru also disclosed that government is losing over N250 million on fake haulage ticketing and illegal activities of haulage ticket touts, saying the introduction and operation of unified haulage tickets that will begin in July will address fake haulage ticketing.
