MDAs begin defense of reports as Osinbajo presides over FEC

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council FEC, expected to deliberate on reports submitted by some government agencies and Parastatals, among them, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC and the Department of Immigration Services.
President Muhammadu Buhari administration had directed Ministries Departments and Agencies of government MDAs, as he winds down the first four years in government in May.
The President called for a comprehensive “status reports on policies, programs and projects” from cabinet members on their respective ministries, departments and agencies, giving yesterday as deadline.
This is just as the President directed the setting up of a Presidential Audit Committee, headed by the Vice President.
As a result of the current development, Vice President Osinbajo will preside over the 9th and 10th meetings of the Council have been rescheduled today, Thursday, 25th April and Thursday, 2nd May, 2019 respectively.
Some representatives of the MDAs were seen patiently waiting to present and defend their reports at the briefing room of the Council Chambers on Thursday
The President who is expected to proceed on a private visit to the United Kingdom UK , from this weekend, will miss the meetings
