The Kano State government says it will establish small scale industries, as part of its effort to create jobs and hasten economic development in the state.
Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso stated this on Thursday in Kano when the National Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) honoured him with the ‘Best Governor on Entrepreneurship’ award at the Government House.
He said that the government would establish garment production centres in each of the 44 local government areas to reduce the level of unemployment in the state.
“Contract has been awarded for remodeling of the available structures in the areas to serve as modern garment production centers”, he said.
Kwankwaso said that the state government would import the necessary machineries for the take-off of the centres, adding that artisans would be recruited and provided with the necessary technical support and assistance.
