President Goodluck Jonathan will on Thursday inaugurate the National Council on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The council is expected to provide guidance and coordination on the evolution of strategies and policies for the wholesome support of MSMEs development in Nigeria.
A statement from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) stated that the council which is the apex body of MSMEs is headed by Vice President Namadi Sambo.
Membership of the council is drawn from ministries such as National Panning, Finance Agriculture, Youth and Women Affairs, a governor each from the six geopolitical zones of the country, departments and agencies, the private sector and some selected MSME associations such as the Nigeria Association of Small and Medium Scale Industrialists (NASSI), National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), among others.
