The National Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation has collected $11.4 million (N1.8 billion) for disbursement to victims of the 2012 flood disaster across the country.
President Goodluck Jonathan who stated this while declaring open the Nigeria Philanthropy Summit in Abuja on Monday, said the amount was realised a month after the inauguration of the committee.
Jonathan, who was represented by Vice President Namadi Sambo, said his administration was partnering with the Nigerian philanthropic community to design and execute intervention programmes that would positively impact on key sectors of the economy.
