The Federal Government has launched a national home grown school feeding programme. Similar programmes are already running in Osun and Kaduna states.

In Osun state, 252 ,793 children are fed daily for N12 million. The state governor Rauf Aregbesola says N3billion has been budgeted for this purpose for the year.

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai says 1.5 million children are fed weekly for N318million. The programme in the state started on the 18th of January this year.

States that have commenced the programme will get matching grants from the Federal Government .
