Mike Oguama, the managing director, Enugu State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (ENRUWASA), weekend advocated integrated approach by stakeholders to increase access to water supply.
Oguama made the call in Enugu in a ceremony to mark the 2013 World Water Day.
He said if government and donor agencies including UNICEF, Wateraid and NGOs should adopt such approach, access to safe water would be tremendously increased to better the life of mankind.
He said the adoption of demand-driven approach by the state government through the constitution of a committee to verify the need of every community was the greatest strategy to provide water for the rural populace.
