Supreme Court adjourns hearing of Ihedioha’s case to March 2

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of Emeka Ihedioha’s application to March 2, 2020.  This is to enable Ihedioha’s legal team respond to addresses served on them. Before now, there was tension in Imo State ahead of today’s sitting by the Supreme Court on an application filed by the immediate past governor of the state.

The state police command had deployed armed policemen to the streets of Owerri, the state capital, to forestall any clash between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Police had also banned any form of protests. Ihedioha is seeking a review of the apex court’s judgment on the state 2019 governorship election which ousted him and declared Senator Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the last governorship election in the state.
