The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), is set to boost the diversification agenda of the Federal Government by promoting investment in the mining and solid minerals sector.

Mrs Nike Akande, President of LCCI, said this in a statement she said on Saturday in Lagos.

It said that the chamber would on May 17 inaugurate its newly formed Mining and Solid Minerals Group at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre.

The statement said this group was borne out of the urgent need to diversify the economy and encourage investment in the sector.

“The group will provide a viable platform for operators in the sector where they could engage the government and exchange ideas on the growth and development of the sector.”

According to the statement, the group will improve advocacy at every level of government and its relevant agencies, value-addition to members of the group and sustainable growth of the sector.

It said that the inauguration would attract veterans in the sector who would deliberate and proffer solutions to government on issues that would accelerate development in the sector. (NAN)
