Imo Supreme Court ruling: APC replies PDP, says opposition party calling for war

Uzodimma lauds Gbajabiamila’s leadership qualities, seeks support of House to end crisis rocking APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC Friday blasted the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for calling for the immediate review and reversal of the decision of the Supreme Court on the Imo State governorship election.

The apex court had declared Hope Uzodinma candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election in Imo state and sacked Emeka Ihedioha, candidate of the PDP.

Reacting to the judgement, PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, said reviewing the Supreme Court’s decision would be in the interest of justice and also called on Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mohammed Tanko to resign.

But in his response, APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, accused PDP of calling for war with what he described as “reckless” statement by its National Chairman.

Oshiomhole at a press conference in Abuja said the PDP candidate did not have the spread to be declared winner of the Imo state and asked PDP to obey the apex court’s ruling as APC had accepted earlier rulings in Zamfara where the party lost all elective offices to PDP.
