The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Taraba chapter, has directed its member not to resume on Monday, September 22 as directed by the Federal Government.

Taraba NUT chairman, Aliyu Mafindi, who gave the directive, said the state government had not put any measure in place to protect students and teachers against Ebola outbreak.

Mafindi who addressed a press conference on Saturday in Jalingo, said there was no reason to justify resumption on Monday.

He said that government was yet to fulfill the promise it made in August that measures would be put in place to prevent the spread of Ebola in the state.

“Till this moment, we have not seen anything in place.

“We hereby direct our members not to resume until the state government puts in place measures to prevent the spread of the dreaded disease,” he noted.

He said that the union would not take the risk of allowing both the students and the teachers to just resume without any effort from government to protect them. (NAN)
