Seplat Petroleum Company, one of the front runners in Africa’s rapidly emerging independent oil and gas companies,
has hired seasoned business strategist and communications expert, Celine Loader, as board advisor/ general manager, corporate strategy and business improvement.

Loader’s resume boasts 18 years of corporate experience, having started her career at Microsoft UK, where she was variously business analyst, communications manager, strategy planner, rising to regional marketing manager for the Africa & Middle East region.

Later, as group director, marketing and corporate relations, she was responsible for the brand transformation of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) following its merger with former Standard Trust Bank.

Loader was thereafter appointed chief marketing officer at FirstBank of Nigeria, the country’s top lender. Until joining Seplat, she was senior adviser at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

In April 2014, Seplat executed a landmark IPO listing on both the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE), with an ambitious vision to claim top spot in Africa’s energy play.

Loader’s appointment is amongst other recent senior hires which should diversify and strengthen the leadership of the company.

Seplat is a leading indigenous exploration and production company currently operating in onshore Niger Delta basin. The company has a 45% participating interest in 3 oil blocks (OML’s 4, 38 and 41).
