Breaking: Finally, DSS frees Sowore from Detention

Sowore: CSO seeks dismissal of DSS DG, lambasts Malami

Activist and a former Presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore was on Thursday freed by the Department of Security Service DSS  after over 100 days in detention.

The Publisher of Sahara Reporters was arrested on August 3 in Lagos by the DSS following his planned protest with #Revolutionnow, which the security agencies interpreted as a treasonable felony and an attempt to destabilize the country.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja earlier on Thursday had ordered the DSS to release Sowore within 24 hours, and also fined the agency N100,000 for disobeying its orders to release him.
