Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s former military head of government and leader of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to formally declare his intention to seek election as president in the 2015 general elections.

The military leader, who has stood for election three times and failed, was in Lagos last Sunday, to deliver a special invitation to Governor Babatunde Fashola for his formal declaration to contest in the 2015 elections. Fashola is also a member of the APC.

Two weeks ago, Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president under President Olusegun Obasanjo, had also formally made known his intention to vie for the presidency on the platform of APC. Atiku had defected from the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PPD) to Action Congress (AC), back to the PDP before defecting again to APC.

Buhari arrived the Lagos House, Marina, in company with members of his team where he solicited for Fashola’s support.
