The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) are partnering to digitise asset declaration processes for more than five million public servants and strengthening institutional efficiency through technology-driven reforms.

The agreement, signed on Wednesday in Abuja, provides a framework for collaboration in institutional digital systems, capacity building and technical advisory services.

According to a statement signed by Chima Akwaja, Deputy Director of Information, NASENI, the partnership is expected to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery in line with the mandates of both institutions.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, said the agreement was the culmination of discussions between both agencies and underscored the importance of building a sustainable framework for collaboration.

Halilu noted that the partnership would leverage NASENI’s technological expertise to support the Code of Conduct Bureau’s ongoing modernisation efforts and strengthen institutional performance.

In his remarks, Abdullahi Usman Bello, Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, expressed appreciation to NASENI for embracing the partnership, describing the agreement as a major step toward transforming the Bureau’s operations.

According to Bello, the Bureau currently faces significant challenges in administering asset declaration forms to more than five million public servants across the country, a task he said would become more efficient and accessible through digitalisation.

He explained that digitising the asset declaration process would improve service delivery, enhance transparency and reduce the administrative burden associated with manual operations.

“The implementation of this MoU has the potential to be a game changer for the Bureau,” Bello said.

Also speaking at the event, Tanimu Yakubu, Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, commended both institutions for pursuing a partnership that would promote transparency, accountability and effective governance.

Yakubu observed that the Code of Conduct Bureau’s mandate requires reliable and modern technological systems capable of managing large volumes of information and expressed confidence that NASENI’s expertise would provide the necessary support.

He noted that strengthening the Bureau’s digital infrastructure would improve its ability to discharge its constitutional responsibilities while enhancing public confidence in governance processes.

A part of the event was the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI and the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau.
