Tariff suspension: Kaduna Electric complies with NERC directive

NERC terminates Kaduna Electric’s board over N110bn debt

Kaduna Electric Distribution Company has complied with the directive of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to suspend the new Service Based Tariff and revert to the old tariff as at August 31, 2020.

The Kaduna Electric announced its compliance in a statement signed by the head, corporate communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday.

According to the statement, pre-paid customers who purchased electricity tokens from Wednesday will, therefore, see the value of the old tariff reflected in their tokens, while post-paid customers will also see the old tariff reflected on their next bill.

“The management of Kaduna Electric wishes to inform its customers and the general public that it has fully complied with the directive,” the statement said.
