TekNexus Africa, a tech talent mentorship hub founded by Glory Olamigoke, has announced the inaugural TekNexus Africa Tech Summit, targeted at driving growth of tech economy.
Scheduled for June 21-22, 2024, the event will convene top tech founders, builders, leaders, and professionals from across the African continent.
The two-day summit features keynote speeches and panel discussions focused on driving the growth of Africa’s tech economy.
With eight seasoned speakers, Eyitayo Ogunmola, CEO of Utiva, Bisola Alabi of Heels & Tech, Oluchi Enebeli of Web3 Ladies, Favour Martins-leye, Beersheba Alogbo, Emmanuel Yirenkyi, Gbemisola Abijo and Iyanu Durotola, the stage is set for quality conversations by Africans, focused on Africa’s tech potential and growth
Themed ‘Building Africa’s Tech Future: Skills, Talent and Venture,’ the event aims to examine how we can collectively shape Africa’s tech future in terms of skills, talent and venture. Attendees will gain valuable insights and learn how to leverage their skills for Africa’s benefit, create innovative solutions to tackle the continent’s challenges, accelerate their tech career growth, build globally successful businesses from Africa, and scale their impact, income, influence in the tech industry.
“We believe that by nurturing tech talents, we can unlock solutions to Africa’s biggest challenges,” said Glory Olamigoke. “Our summit is designed to inspire and equip tech professionals to drive positive change and growth in Africa’s tech ecosystem.”
According to the UN, Africa has not only the youngest population in the world, but 70% of sub-Saharan Africa under the age of 30. Also, a report by International Finance Corporation (IFC) has revealed that by 2030, some level of digital skills would be required in about 230 million jobs in Sub-Saharan Africa.
These reveal that there is still so much potential for digital and tech skill growth amongst young people in Africa.
TekNexus Africa is at the forefront of the digital and tech skill development revolution in Africa providing mentorship and support to tech talents through its carefully curated programs and initiatives which are also in line with UN SDG goals 4 and 8.
