FilmOne Studios has recorded a defining commercial moment as Oversabi Aunty, co-produced with Toyin Abraham Films Production, crosses the N1.08 billion mark at the Nigerian box office in 2026. With a current gross of N1,081,177,001 the film has firmly secured its place among Nollywood’s highest-grossing theatrical releases.
The milestone underscores the sustained commercial momentum of the FilmOne and Toyin Abraham creative partnership.
In 2025, Alakada Bad and Boujee, co-produced by FilmOne Studios, recorded over N500 million at the Nigerian box office, signalling strong audience pull and market confidence. In 2026, Oversabi Aunty has surpassed the N1 billion mark effectively doubling box office scale in consecutive years.
Together, these results reflect rising audience demand, strengthened brand equity, and a maturing execution model built on strategic collaboration and consistent delivery.
Commenting on the milestone, Kene Okwuosa, Group CEO, Filmhouse Group (FilmOne Entertainment, Filmhouse Cinemas, FilmOne Studios), said:
“This milestone is significant not only because Oversabi Aunty has crossed N1 billion, but because of the trajectory it confirms. The progression from N500 million in 2025 to N1 billion in 2026 reflects sustained audience growth, disciplined execution, and the value of long-term creative partnerships.”
The performance of Oversabi Aunty also highlights FilmOne’s vertically integrated operating model.
Co-produced by FilmOne Studios and Toyin Abraham Films Production, the film benefitted from early alignment across development, production, marketing, and theatrical distribution, ensuring consistency of intent and execution across the value chain.
Over multiple projects, including the Alakada titles and subsequent releases, FilmOne has partnered with Toyin Abraham across both production and distribution, establishing a repeatable framework that strengthens audience trust and enables increasingly scalable commercial outcomes.
Ladun Awobokun, Chief Content Officer, FilmOne Entertainment, added: “What stands out is not just the milestone, but the momentum behind it. Growth from N500 million to N1 billion across consecutive years is the result of belief in the talent, operational discipline, and close collaboration across production and distribution. Oversabi Aunty is a strong validation of
that approach.”
As Nollywood’s theatrical market continues to mature, Oversabi Aunty stands as a compelling case study in how integrated operations, long-term creative partnerships, and audience alignment can drive accelerated box office growth over time.
The film’s performance further reinforces FilmOne’s position as a fully integrated entertainment company delivering commercial consistency, scale, and durability across years, not just releases.
