Abiodun Oshinibosi, foremost IMC industry professional, experiential marketing expert and Project Marshal /CEO of Abelinis Limited, is set to debut book, ‘Project Manager Extraordinaire.’ (PMX).

The book represents a huge contribution to the field of project management and experiential marketing industry, an area where formalised knowledge has been notably scarce despite its growing importance across Africa’s marketing landscape.

“Project Manager Extraordinaire” aims to dispel the common misconception that project management is limited to IT and engineering fields.

The book demonstrates how project management principles apply comprehensively within experiential marketing, offering valuable insights drawn from Oshinibosi’s extensive career across project management and experiential marketing.

“When we talk about project management, everybody thinks it’s about IT, engineering, etc., but project management in the experiential marketing space is a discipline that cuts across irrespective of the field,” states Oshinibosi.

“This book is my way of giving back to society as I celebrate my 50th birthday, by sharing what has helped me navigate successfully through the years in this industry.”

The book specifically targets students studying project management, recent graduates, and entry-level project managers in marketing agencies. It addresses not only theoretical frameworks but also the practical aspects that distinguish exceptional project managers.

“Our target is not middle managers but the younger ones because, majorly, you may know the act or the framework but not the right habits and attitude to run as a project manager,” explains Oshinibosi.

“Managing projects leads to managing people, scenes, emotions, and conflicts. These are critical elements that distinguish project managers.”

The virtual unveiling of the book which is scheduled for March 24, 2025, will coincide with Oshinibosi’s 50th birthday celebration.

The book has received notable endorsements from industry leaders. The forward was written by Tsola Barrow, a seasoned professional, Business Leader, Board Member, C-suite Executive with 32+ years of driving Market Expansion & Industry Disruption in Telecoms, FMCG & Energy; Rotimi Olaniyan, past president of EXMAN (Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria) and current programme director at a leading UK business school, will review the book.

Additionally, Tolu Fadamitan who has over 26yrs of experience of combined experience in both fields, will also contribute his expertise in reviewing the manuscript from the angle of project management and a client.

A philanthropist and humanitarian, Oshinibosi is channeling proceeds from the sale of the book towards polio eradication efforts through Rotary International, a humanitarian organization with 120 years of service, of which he is an staunch member.

“Integrity and detailing is in view when working with topmost Not for Profit organization like Rotary International, and this gives us that guarantee that if we put one kobo, it goes directly into that initiative,” affirms Oshinibosi.

Recognizing that the selling cost of approximately ₦35,000 per copy would be prohibitive for the intended audience, Oshinibosi has developed an endowment programme.

Through this initiative, professionals, friends, and family can sponsor copies for students at various higher education institutions across Nigeria.

“We want to get our friends together to get this book across to our target in higher institutions,” says Oshinibosi.

“One person might sponsor 10 copies for students at the University of Lagos, another might pick five for The Polytechnic Ibadan students,” he explains.
