Entertainment Week Africa (EWA), which began as a Lagos-focused initiative has, in just three years, matured into a trusted meeting point for creators, investors, policymakers, and business leaders across music, film, fashion, technology, and live production.

With its expansion to Entertainment Week Africa, the platform now takes on a continental mandate—serving as a marketplace for ideas, capital, and collaborations that define the future of Africa’s cultural and creative industries.

Themed ‘Close the Gap’, EWA, has officially announced its 2025 edition, scheduled for 18–23 November 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria.

EWA is the evolution of Entertainment Week Lagos, which launched in 2022 as a pioneering platform to accelerate the growth of Africa’s creative economy.

A Platform for Africa’s Creative Economy

The creative economy is one of Africa’s fastest-growing sectors, with potential to generate billions in GDP and millions of jobs for its young population. Yet, gaps remain between talent and opportunity, innovation and infrastructure, creativity and capital. Entertainment Week Africa exists to close these gaps.

Beyond a showcase, EWA functions as a development and investment platform. It provides young creatives and emerging businesses with access to mentorship, market entry, skills development, and direct pathways to industry and funding opportunities. For investors and corporate stakeholders, it represents a curated access point into Africa’s most dynamic industries.

Legacy and Impact

Since its inception, the platform has established a strong track record:

Hosting leading voices across entertainment, media, and policy.

Creating visibility and distribution opportunities for emerging artists, designers, filmmakers, and creators.

Driving partnerships between African talent and global players.

Building an ecosystem where cultural expression meets business innovation.

EWA has become a launchpad for investment, talent discovery, and cross-industry collaboration on the continent.

2025 Theme: Close the Gap

The 2025 edition, themed Close the Gap, underscores the urgent need to bridge divides that limit Africa’s creative economy: between potential and infrastructure, creators and investors, local talent and global platforms.

By convening leaders from across Africa and the diaspora, EWA 2025 will accelerate the transformation of creativity into sustainable economic growth.

Flagship experiences include content festival, music festival, fashion festival, AI & Tech Expo, live production expo, and creative job fair.
