Filmhouse Cinemas and Giwa Gardens have partnered on a holiday initiative ahead of this year’s Christmas festivities.

Throughout December, moviegoers who purchase two tickets to selected films at participating Filmhouse locations will receive complimentary entry to the Giwa Gardens park.

Both organisations say the initiative is aimed at creating more opportunities for families and friends to spend meaningful time together during the festive season.

The collaboration brings together two experiences many Lagos families seek at this time of year; shared storytelling and outdoor adventure.

This move aligns with a wider shift in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape toward more community-focused, value-led offerings.

“This partnership is really about restoring the social ritual of going out together,” said Winifred Wessels, Head of Marketing at Filmhouse Cinemas.

“Cinema has always been a space where families pause, take a breath, and reconnect. By pairing that with a day at Giwa Gardens, we’re extending that moment into something people can genuinely savour this season.”

Giwa Gardens echoed the sentiment, adding that the holiday period continues to highlight how much families crave experiences that feel intentional rather than transactional.

“More than ever, families are seeking genuine connection,” said Keji Giwa, CEO Giwa Gardens. “Our collaboration with Filmhouse Cinemas gives them a chance to have multiple shared experiences that last a lifetime, and we’re proud to make that possible this season.

The offer applies to pairs of tickets purchased for major family-friendly December blockbusters including Avatar: Fire and Ash, Zootopia, David, and SpongeBob. Guests will receive their Giwa Gardens entry passes at the cinema counter upon presenting receipts for the two tickets.

Participating Filmhouse Cinemas include Circle Mall, Ikota, Landmark, Lekki IMAX, Palms, Surulere, and Twinwaters.

Reflecting their shared enthusiasm for this collaboration, both Filmhouse Cinemas and Giwa Gardens emphasize that the initiative embodies the spirit of Christmas, offering families and friends the opportunity to create lasting memories without any additional financial burden.
