Recently, over 100 exhibitors gathered at Landmark Centre in Victoria Island for WED Expo 2013, Nigeria’s largest Wedding Exhibition. But the highlight seemed to be the presence of Starwood Group with its hotels across Nigeria that participated to sell their hotels as wedding destinations.
It was until the hotel chain explained why wedding was a big issue that many visitors discovered that wedding was also sold as top offering in the hotel. Wedding is a lifetime event that is hoped to be done once and perfect. But the stress of the corporate world and engaging business environment hardly allows many intending couples to plan so well for their wedding; hence the hotel chain is reengaging couples in lasting romance and helping intending couples to perfect their dream day with well-packaged wedding products.
According to the hotel chain, all intending couples need is to buy into its wedding products on offer and get seamless conjugal experience at the chic environments provided by its hotels across the country. The wedding package includes rooms for the couple and their guests, wedding venue, food, drinks, among others, covered under special pricing of the package.
On the rationale behind the package, the senior staff of Four Points By Sheraton Lagos noted: “Our goal is to help people meet their wedding budget through our various wedding packages.”
Now, you can easily walk into any Starwood hotels – Sheraton Ikeja Hotel, Sheraton Abuja Hotel, Le Meridien Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, Four Points By Sheraton Lagos or Le Meridien Ogeyi Place in Port Harcourt – to ask for the best wedding package or honeymoon offer that will take away your stress while offering memories that last forever.
At Starwood’s stand at the expo, key staff of the various participating hotels of the global hotel chain took time off to explain why wedding is now a big event that people should even partner. As the official hotel partner of the event, Starwood Hotels and Resorts used the opportunity to market its various wedding and honeymoon packages.
“Wedding is a big market now because people attach heavy premium to it. In Kubwa, a satellite town in Abuja, at least 30 weddings take place every month. Imagine other parts of the capital city, then Lagos, Port Harcourt and other parts of the country. It is big and is enough market to go for,” a staff of the Sheraton Abuja Hotel explained.
