CBN instructs banks to provide domiciliary account statements of 16 customers

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Wednesday asked banks to furnish it with the domiciliary account statements of 16 individual customers from January 1, 2013, to July 31, 2020.

This was stated in a letter to all banks titled ‘Request For Statement of Accounts’, with reference number BSD/DIR/GEN/LAB/13/063, dated September 15, 2020, and seen by BusinessDay.

The letter signed by Z. Marcus, for the director banking supervision department, also requested the domiciliary accounts linked to the affected customers by Bank Verification Number (BVN).

The CBN said the response should be forwarded only to the designated email addresses before 4.00pm on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
