Passengers onboard Asman Air aircraft this morning panicked when an unidentified man, carrying a bag disrupted flight operations at Murtala Muhammed Airport II, after climbing on wings of the aircraft a few minutes to take-off.
A viral video showed a man who looked ‘insane’ climbing the wing of the aircraft with a bag and tried to access the aircraft.
The video also showed worried passengers panicking and calling on relevant authorities to get the man out, while others said they wanted to disembark.
Henriatta Yakubu, general manager, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) who confirmed the developments said the man has been apprehended and the authority is carrying out investigations into the incident.

At about 1009 hours, aviation security officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria arrested an intruder who was sighted trying to climb into an Azman aircraft waiting for clearance from Air Traffic Controllers.

According to Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN said
the pilot of the Azman aircraft with registration number 5N-HAI departing Lagos to Port Harcourt reported the incident and Avsec officials swiftly responded. The man has been apprehended and is now in Avsec’s custody.Yakubu said the aircraft taxied back to the apron for a  through check and has departed for Port Harcourt afterwards.She said the Authority is already investigating the incident.
