The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Thursday announced increase in Passengers Service Charge (PSC)from N1,000 to N2,000 for local flights, $50 to $80 or N30,329 for ECOWAS countries, and $50 to $100 or N37,990 on intercontinental flights, with effect from September 1, 2020.

Rabiu Yadudu, managing director of FAAN, said the increase became imperative as the Authority suffered 97 percentreduction in revenue.

Yadudu made this known during a press briefing held at FAANcorporate headquarters, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja.

He explained that the sector has invested hugely in airport infrastructure and the current PSC does not correlate with realities of costrelated inflation rate of 12.82 percent put by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
