Nigerian aviation ministry appoints new directors

FAAN staff spent almost N1 billion shuttling Lagos – Abuja in 2023, says Minister

In a move aimed at accelerating the progress of the aviation sector, the Nigerian Federal Government has announced the appointment of new directors to oversee various agencies within the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

This decision comes just a week after the government sacked the chief executives of aviation agencies and directors in the ministry.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, it stated that these appointments align with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, SAN, CON, FCIArb. (U.K), revealed the list of newly appointed directors to the agencies under the ministry.

The directors appointed are as follows:

Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development:
1. Abdullahi Babanya – Director, Engineering Services
2. Odita Francis Isioma – Director, Operations
3. Nwobu Patrick – Director, Transport Investigation
4. Esosa Eremwanarua – Director, Legal Services/Company Secretary
5. Lawal Abdulmumin – Director, Human Resources
6. Bimbo Olawunmi Oladeji – Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection
7. Okundaye-Oke Itohan Folake – Director, Finance and Accounts
8. Baro Henry Minabowanre – Director, Corporate Services

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN):
1. Muniru Adejare Abiola – Director, Engineering Services
2. Abdullahi Mohmood – Director, Airport Operations
3. Ayodele Olatiregun – Director, Finance and Accounts
4. Luqman Olatubosun Eniola – Director, Human Resources and Administration
5. Igbafe Afegbai – Director, Aviation Security Services
6. Bridget Gold – Director, Legal Services/Company Secretary
7. Jensen Asaba – Director, Corporate Services
8. Obiageli Orah – Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection
9. Henry Agbebire – Director, Special Duties
10. Adebola Joy Agunbiade – Director, Commercial and Business Development
11. To be appointed shortly – Director, Cargo Services

Additionally, the ministry announced the creation of a new directorate known as Cargo Services within the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). This initiative aims to address the challenges currently facing the cargo sector.

The newly appointed directors will play a crucial role in driving initiatives to improve services, streamline operations, and boost the sector’s overall performance.
