Festus Keyamo, the  Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, led a high-level Nigerian delegation to Yaoundé, Cameroon, on Friday, February 27th where he joined his Cameroonian counterpart, the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest NgalNgallé Bibehe, to formally sign the Bilateral Agreement on Technical Aeronautical Search and Rescue Operations.

This pact between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Cameroon enhances airspace safety by enabling faster, more coordinated responses to aviation emergencies across our shared borders.

The Minister was accompanied by the Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), and key directors from the Ministry, ensuring a unified approach to implementation.

The strategic partnership fully aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises institutional strengthening,  regional cooperation, economic revitalisation,
protection of lives and property in the aviation sector

By formalising these protocols, Nigeria reaffirms its leadership in fostering a safer, more integrated, and resilient aviation ecosystem throughout West and Central Africa.
