Two crew members of an airline, Temitayo Olubunmi Daramola and Delita Abibimbgi, have been arrested at London Heathrow airport for allegedly being in possession of six kilos of cocaine.
According to Rob Fitzpatrick, head of press & public affairs section of British High Commission, Abuja, the estimated value of the cocaine, if cut and sold on the UK streets, could have had a potential street value of around £600,000.
The two Nigerian women aged 37 and 32, respectively, had arrived on a flight from Lagos on the evening of Monday, May 20.
They were arrested after a package of drugs was discovered by London Border Force officers on a bus which had been used to transport air crew.
The pair, according to Fitzpatrick, remain in Border Force custody where they will be questioned further.
